The Reolink RLC-840A is a 4K 8MP vandal-proof PoE security camera with an IK10-rated metal housing, color night vision, AI person/vehicle/pet detection, two-way audio, and a wide viewing angle. It uses a single Ethernet cable for power and data and supports local recording without a subscription.
The Reolink RLC-840A has a 125° diagonal field of view, with 105° horizontal and 56° vertical viewing angles. The wide-angle lens covers large areas and reduces the number of cameras needed to monitor entrances, driveways, yards, and other outdoor spaces.
The main difference between the Reolink RLC-840A and RLC-843A is optical zoom capability. The RLC-843A includes 5× optical zoom, while the RLC-840A has a fixed lens with no optical zoom. Both models support 4K resolution, PoE connectivity, AI detection, color night vision, and vandal-resistant design.
It can be installed on a wall, ceiling, or under an eave/overhang. the camera base allows adjustment after mounting. It is also compatible with junction boxes, which helps hide cables for a cleaner installation and provides extra protection for the wiring.
