So there is no where written in the documentation or on the product page that this camera RLC-81MA does not work with the older RLN8-410 Hardware version H3MB02. It just shows "preview failed" and there is no way to make it function. I have fully updated the H3MB02 to the newest firmware and it makes no difference. Reolink should really explain that since I now have already mounted it and need to remove it and return it to Amazon!

Love the dual lenses in this PoE camera. I have it set up covering my driveway and street so the dual lenses provide great coverage and close up images. As another reviewer stated it would be nice if the zoom lens could be positioned separate from the wide angle lens. However, for my install the fixed lenses were not that big of an issues but I could see where it might big an issue.
The only issue I had with the camera was when I connected it to my BlueIris NVR. After a random number of hours the audio lags and eventually drops out completely. I could not find any settings that would make this combination work. I eventually had to setup BlueIris so that it would issue a camera restart every 8 hours in order to make sure that it was always recording video and audio. I have reached out to Reolink support team and made them aware of this issue. I am hoping that they will push out a firmware update soon.
I also have 2 TrackMix PoE cameras hooked up to my BlueIris NVR that initially had audio issues. The issue was similar except that the audio would cutout after only a short time. It was eventually resolved when Reolink provided me with a firmware update.
If you only plan to use this camera with the Reolink NVR, phone apps and Window’s programs then these are great cameras. I have not noticed these same audio issues using the iPhone app or the Window’s program.

I have 10 years experience installing IPCs, worked with many brands and I can say with confidence Reolink is the best all around system you can get for the price point. With that being said, lets talk about this camera. There is so much to like about this camera, that I will have to start with what I did not like about it just to get that out of the way. This screw down mounting system is god awful, hate it on my other RLCs. impossible to tighten down the camera in the right position. The allen key lock system on the baseplate that is used on other cameras is much better.

Aside from that small issue that is not really a big deal, the other thing is that you cannot aim the telephoto lens independently of the unit, so both lenses point in the same direction. Where this comes as an issue is where you want the full frame lens to capture just that, the entire frame of the shot, and want to use the telephoto lens to zoom into a specific area that is not at the very center of the image. For example, I purchased this with the intent of using it for my street camera. I have a post that stands next to the sidewalk, and an arm extends out so the camera sits right over where pedestrians walk. There are two cameras, each shooting in opposite ends to cover the entire street and to capture passing vehicles and to get their license plates. I was hoping that this camera could be used where I use the zoom lens to focus on the plates.

So the issue for me, is that if I reposition the camera to ensure the telephoto shot centers license plates in both directions, the entire frame of the camera will have to shift and I will not be able to capture the sidewalk and both entry points to my driveway. If there was some way to adjust the angle of the telephoto lens, that would make this the ultimate camera. But this issue is for my specific application, and the camera is so good that I do not care to replace it, in fact I will be buying more of them!

What really impressed me with this camera is its colored night vision, it really is excellent and provides just as good an image as the other camera next to it using IR NV. Of course, at night, do not expect any of RLCs to capture license plates on moving cars driving over 10mph at night. But if someone slows down suspiciously in front of your house, this will capture the plates with ease.

I would only hope that Reolink stops using these twist to lock camera bases. My unit did not come with the tool to secure it, had to use channel locks which can damage the paint finish on the camera. If Reolink sold the allen key lock bases as a separate upgrade, I would purchase them for all of my cameras with this screw down lock base gladly.

The good:
-Clear picture day/night.
-IR is great.
-2 way audio is great.
-The wide angle lens is great.
-Its a fairly small camera and seems to be built very well.

The bad:
-No digital tracking with the second lens (like the trackmix which has the same 2 lens setup, 1 wide 1 zoom).
-No ability to manually position the zoomed in lens, so if you get your wide angle set correct, the zoomed in lens might still stare at the dirt or a wall. Useless.

This is really giving me buyers remorse after spending the entire day hooking up a Reolink system that along with other cameras, included 2 of these rlc-81mas.

The hopeful:
Both of "the bad" I listed should be fixable via a firmware update. This would be such a huge QoL improvement. Please Reolink, make it happen.

The camera has good, low light vision, and the dual camera combination is useful, but R demoneolink only dropped the ball by cheaping out on the the secondary "Zoom" camera. Due to the lower resolution of the secondary camera, you're not really gaining that much detail compared to the higher resolution camera

J ai acheté 2x la 81ma et elle fait le travail pour le prix. Elle permet d obtenir deux images instantanément sans devoir zoomer et n'utilise qu'un seul canal.
Domage que l optique zoom soit en 3mp mais assez correct pour une distance de 10-12m.
Gros plus pour le spot qui déclanche a l arrivé dune personne. Dissuasif ou utile lorsque je rentre dans le noir.

#reolink# Elles devraient exister en couleur noire comme bcp d autres modèles destiné à mettre sur des façades pour mieux être esthétique et moins visible.
