A few years ago, I bought myself a video doorbell from another company, and I hated it. Recently, my mom wanted some security cameras, so I went with Reolink, and it's great. Local storage, person detection works great, and phone alerts are fast and reliable. I also appreciate that local control is an option. (Mom's not using it, as simplicity is the priority for her. But I love that it's available.) Whenever the time comes for me to upgrade my doorbell, I'll be going with Reolink.

On receipt the packaging was good and the box contents covered most installations you would likely come across. I have the WiFi version so it only needed a 24v power supply to the doorbell and hence a small gauge wire (it can also accept a ethernet cable if needed).
The install was very simply and setup very easy with no issues at all. The camera had the latest firmware so no update was necessary.
My only small negative is that the supplied power cable was black in colour. I know that you cannot meet all needs but I would have thought that white was a more neutral colour and more likely to meet customer needs. I easily sourced a white cable from my local hardware store and used that.
Once installed the camera is collecting data correctly and can send files by email and FTP as well as storing on the local SD card. Playback from the onboard SD card is quick on the local network and remotely.
It has integrated into Reolink app on both Windows and my iPhone seamlessly.
It also has the ability to send critical alerts to an iPhone. Once set any person identified or doorbell button press leads to a critical alert being sent. This is a sound and vibration even if your iPhone and watch is set to silent. In theory this is good but in my setup it picks up people walking past the house. Ideally I would have critical alerts for a button press only. I cannot see this feature but will keep looking. Maybe I can adjust the sensitivity.
Generally I am very impressed with the quality and reliability and I thoroughly recommend it.

I have not managed to set up the POE option but on power and my wifi its been very reliable. FREE monthly fees is awesome. I have just got a NVR so thats being hooked up this weekend and the link to home assistant is brilliant, Speaker broadcast and hall light flash.

This. Is my review of the reolink doorbell. I have the Wi-Fi version. First of all, it is so small and compact it's amazing all The equipment that's in it works. The Wi-Fi from my router to the doorbell is about 10 metres away. An I have the chime of further 10 metres away from the router. So the chime is 20 metres away from my doorbell and it works perfectly. When the button is pressed. There is no deley whatsoever and my phone messages me within two seconds. And then I press the notification and within another two seconds I have the live feed and can talk to the people outside my front door. So far I've had no lag or any interference whatsoever. a big thing i like
about this doorbell is. You can save all videos and Motion detection's to the SD card on board. It will take a 256 card. I have a 64 in mine, but there's more than enough room. I had a bit of fun this morning with it. I used a time lapse. On it and I timelapse 6 hours of sunrise and it works fantastically, so that's a good bit of fun. Also when the doorbell is pressed. You can have 3 preset already made messages, quick replies. To announce to your visitors what you would like to say. Or you can record your own voice, which can be a bit of fun to the ones that you don't like knocking all the time. The doorbell was so easy to set up. Where I am I have a 2 brick wall so I had to run the electrically down between the two bricks and I drilled a hole on the outside and I managed to get a bit of wire to go down the cavity of the brickwork and pulled the wire
Out to get the power to it. But a lot of other houses don't have double bricks, so it would be more than easy. And of course, it's so easy to set up with the reolink app.. by now everyone knows how good the reolink app
is. There was absolutely no problem. Is was probably one of the simplest ones I've ever set up. Even simpler than the cameras. I'm so happy with the product. And I'm glad I got it. A lot of my friends have other cameras going on the market as reolink is only just released here in Australia. But they're going to be sorry, because this one outshines theres by a long way. It's a great product. You get good outside vision at night with the two little infrared lights, but if you turn them off and don't want anyone to know you have a camera, there's still plenty of light and the picture quality is quite good even though it's only black and white at night. Couldn't be happier. It's a great product, so do yourself a favour and go and buy one.

The doorbell is fine, but a big drawback is that when the doorbell rings, the phone does not play a sound or ringtone, you only get a popup message that you do not see if you do not have the phone in sight. So you can never respond in time when the doorbell rings. Reolink really needs to do something about this

Great doorbell and awesome clarity.. Only issue - it doesn't connect to existing mechanical chime.. The chime provided is not as loud as mechanical chime and is hard to hear :( .. there are many other video doorbells which support mechanical Chime, not sure why Reolink doesnt.

Just got mine…. Have to say it’s a nice piece of kit. However two major flaws in the device planning.

1) Having such a neat device should come or have at least an anti-theft wall Mount. Yes to certain degree it’s secure, that is until joe blogs, your local thief pops round with a paper clip and wham…. You’ve lost your £120 camera.

2) No call feature on the camera to alert you when there’s someone at the door or near the premises. Yes there’s email notifications which are dependent on your service provider’s speed of delivery. If it’s slow then you’ve missed whoever was at the door before you get the chance to talk to them. As it stands it’s just a glorified 2K camera and expensive one at that. Competitors offer the call feature, why not Reolink?

As I said at the start, this is a nice piece of kit and with a little bit of intuitive genius it could out-sell your rivals and become number 1.

Doorbell looks and functions great but I cannot for the life of me figure out why it will not send me a push notification to my phone (ios) if I press the button? This is the most basic function of the device. Surely it cannot only rely on triggered motion to send a notification? What setting(s) am I missing? When someone PRESSES THE BUTTON I should be able to setup either a visual and/or audio push notification on my phone and choose the tone I want and all that fun stuff. Is this thing actually missing the simple basics? Help

For me this was one of the better options on the market. I don't have wiring run, it wasn't feasible to setup a transformer and run the wires. So a battery powered option was a major factor. I like that there is no monthly fee. Overall it works pretty well. The camera itself has good clarity. It is good about detecting people and packages. Its really nice having a doorbell. I had to play with detection settings to reduce alerts from cars just driving down our street. But after mapping out the exclusion zone its working well. My primary complaint is that the wireless connection is rather slow. I have fiber internet and have a strong wifi connection where the doorbell is mounted. But its got a terrible delay. So having a conversation is not really possible remotely if you aren't home. Honestly even loading it after an alert takes ages. Hopefully some updates to the app or firmware will come out to improve some of that. My other complaint is that the battery life is considerably worse than advertised. I got less than 2 months on the 1st charge. But with the election cycle going there was extra foot traffic and we have also been getting a lot of deliveries due to the holidays. Overall its proving to work. I was just hoping it would be a little better. I would have been fine with it being quite a bit bigger to improve the battery life and antenna. Things for the development team to consider in the future.

You CAN connect it to a NVR as a channel. You have to do it directly from the NVR (connect mouse and display, add channel).

The only issue is some functionality like quick reply, time lapse, and others no longer work. Flaky.

Video quality is great, but the biggest draw back is when the doorbell is pressed you can't get a notification on your phone. You can set up a detection notification, but I don't find that helpful on a front door. I only want a notification when someone is there and presses the button.

After a month and a half of use here is my review

-My doorbell is plug with an Ethernet cable of 75m long, and it works just fine! Although plug in the cable, if the direction of the cable is not correct, is kind of tricky.
-I use the mounting Wedge, but i wish i could have different angle. In my case a lower angle will be better.
-The protection from removing the doorbell is too weak!
So I add an extra layer with a metal band screw to the wall to prevent thief
It's really bad, that no protection thief box was release!
-Due to the localization of my doorbell, i also add a rain cover on top of it. It kind of diminish the upper viewing angle a bit, but i rather like than a soaking doorbell
I also add a scotch around the bell and the Wedge to prevent dust and rain to go in, and the unmount hole to be accessible!
So to finish, if your doorbell easily thief accessible, prior the installation think of protecting it!

I switched from Ring to Reolink POE Doorbell and will never look back. The doorbell seems robust and the POE connection alongside ONVIF, RTMP, RTSP, FTP, and even SD Card makes it the most unique doorbell camera ever.

I wish their ONVIF or 2-way audio could work with third-party applications. It's 5 of 5 but I only give it 4 because not having 2-way audio for third-party applications.

This smart video doorbell does s decent job allowing me to see who is at the door even when I am not home.
It can distinguish between people, animals, cars, and packages. It does have very good image quality, and its battery can deliver good service when placed on low traffic area.
When placed in mid to high traffic area, it could send too many alerts about stationary objects, such as packages, even if a "non-detection zones" is configured.
I really liked the local recording feature, that allows me to record and store footage in the video doorbell or their Home Hub.
I placed this unit on a modest traffic zone and configured its "non-detection zones", it started sending tens of alerts about stationary objects when there was movement in the "non-detection zones".
The "non-detection zone" setting it's supposed to prevent alerts from being triggered in those specific areas and that is how most devices work.
If this device is placed in areas looking at public sidewalks, roads, or similar areas, it will deplete the battery even if those areas are in the "non-detection zone".
The motion detection works around 85% of the times. I had the mailperson come several times and there were not alerts or recording of the activity. The mail box is placed right next to the video doorbell and the mailperson was in the detection zone from 28-37 seconds.
A video doorbell that sends 20+ alerts for a single, stationary package and ignores defined non-detection zones is not performing as expected or advertised for a smart home device.
This is a fundamental failure of a key feature designed to improve the user experience and reduce irrelevant annoying notifications.
By the way, I contacted Reolink support and gave them information regarding the problems. After a few interactions by email I gave up, since it appears they didn't want to assist or didn't comprehend the problem.

I held off buying other doorbells hoping that Reolink would make one, and they did. I am really glad that it's POE because hardwiring is always more reliable.

I am fairly pleased with it except as others mentioned the notifications to a phone are sub par and the stream URL for use with 3rd party systems is nonstandard.

In this price segment, I have found no alternative that can so circumferentially a NAS (Synology) with the strems make happy and can be so easily integrated into homeassistenat.

As an ordinary doorbell it works. Jeodch is the subject of notification expandable.

For a push message with picture, the clound DIenst must be booked and a sound setting for the notification is not in the app. Here I see a clear need to catch up. Because especially on the cell phone it is of great benefit if at least a ring comes when ringing ;) and that is adjustable in the app.

I have nothing bad to say about Reolink and their products. I have an RLN8-410 with (6) d400 cameras all of which are POE cameras. I just preordered a Reolink Duo Floodlight PoE to replace the camera at the front of my house with it, giving me a better viewing angle for the entirety of the main road I live on, and the added spotlights should help when, we arive during the early winter nights we all love to hate. I just recently discovered the windows application as well. It is super handy vs the standard way of going to the static ip address or phone app. It will also save clips to your PC internal storage (make sure you have a huge secondary HDD. By default it saves to your "c" drive and fills up fast) from within the application. The only problem I have is when, you switch the default storage drive, the files are saved on your PC, the NVR no longer records to its primary internal HDD.

Please let me knowif anybody knows the work around for the NVR not recording in tandom when i change where the files are saved

I bought this to replace the old doorbell and to have visibility at the front porch. The installation/configuration was easy enough. I used the AC adapter because the doorbell here was not setup with a doorbell transformer.

I elected to use Reolink cloud since I don't have a MicroSD card. Notifications come quickly, but I think the push notification should be faster for motion alerts.

The chime had multiple melodies and volume settings. It appears to be loud enough.

The only problem I noticed is the video format can't be shared immediately on WhatsApp. I think there's room for improvement there.

Overall, I recommend.

Pretty good camera but there could be upgrades done to it like:
1. choice between h.264 and h.265
2. more options for resolutions and bit rate to chose
3. have a manual moveable lens so you do not need to add spacers or angle brackets to get the view you needs.
The software for this camera is pretty good. I gets the notifications pretty quick. Playback is good, audio is a lil choppy but that's expected. a White led would of been a great add on. Switching to color view when motion is detected in the night would of been a great feature to add as i have a a outdoor motion detection light above my door. Never lost a connection with the camera yet. little on the expensive side when compared to similar cameras. Good camera when u can buy it when there is a promotion on the go.

I have been planning to upgrade my old Nest doorbell and bought the Smart 2K Dual-Band Wi-Fi Battery Doorbell with Head-to-Toe View. It was so easy to install, looks great and the video quality is amazing. A huge different from the old Next doorbell since it has wide angle view for better coverage and importantly, you can add Micro SD card for recoding. The Reolink app is amazing and very responsive with no lag. I wish they bundle the Reolink Chime but I have to purchase them separately.

I've wanted a camera doorbell for quite some time now, but I only choose tech that works locally in my network first and secondly, if preferable works with Home Assistant. The Reolink doorbell hits both accounts, working flawlessly with Home Assistant and being local first. The video quality is amazing for such a small device.
The only tiny issue I has was due to the light coloured wall I have next to the doorbell, at night the night vision LEDs make the image dark due to the wall appearing so bright. A simple bit of tape as seen in the picture on the closest LED fixed all issues.
The fact that it's local first with no subscription like other doorbell manufacturers, sets Reolink apart from the masses. I would highly recommend

Wir überwachen unseren Garten mit zwei Wifi-Kameras von Reolink.

Nun haben wir uns noch zusätzlich die Video Türklingel Wifi angeschafft.
Wir betreiben sie mit dem original Klingeldraht mit 24V und sie funktioniert sehr zuverlässig.
Einziges Manko: Wir sehen im Bild leider nicht die direkt vor unserer Haustür abgelegten Pakete.
Wir sind aber sehr begeistert von den vielen verschiedenen Klingeltönen und empfehlen diese Video Türklingel gerne im Freundeskreis weiter.

The Reolink doorbell camera (v2) can pair with up to 5 chimes - I've now two chimes in the house (upstairs and downstairs), and a third in my garage/workshop. The Reolink app makes pairing easy, and even lets you name each chime individually. (But - tip - you have to use the Reolink App to pair an extra chime with your PoE/NVR video doorbell! Don't try to follow the pairing instructions in the booklet which comes in the box with the extra chime, because that pairing process doesn't work at all!)
(To buy extra chimes, DON'T look under Products > Doorbells, instead look under (find under Products > Accessories > Chime)

First doorbell cam and I have to say I am very impressed. Setup was a little bit of a hassle as the barcode step didn't won't to scan. It finally did after a few attempts. After that everything else was a breeze.

The doorbell itself works well and pretty good quality of the image. Except this Circle effect that give the impression of a beta product.

My challenge was to use it with Google Home, Reolink writes everytwhere it is compatible, but it sounds more like a marketing things. The only thing i get is a message that someone is at the door, but not Video, no button to talk to the person nothing. I need to them take my phone, open the app and initiate a call. Take quite sometime for someone waiting for me to reply

Package detection does not work because you cannot see the ground where the package is placed against the wall or even on the porch. The example you show on your webiste is obviously not a doorbell camera or it has been tilted forward.
If you could rotate the camera 90 degrees, you might be able to see the ground.
Other than that small issue, the camera works fine.

Nice bit of kit but one or two issues.
The first issue I got was with the wireless initially setup on 5G but the signal was weak at times so enabled 2.4G and then put it on auto.
The camera promptly disconnected and wouldn't come up. It couldn't seem to handle two different ssid's. In the end I had to fully reset it back to defaults and just setup 2.4G. Now nice and stable.
The next issue is that would be nice to have a rubber seal round the base to prevent water ingress. I had manually seal it as the unit wasn't flush with the surface.
Then finally the ability to send push notifications is too slow. You can't set it below 20 seconds and after 20 seconds most people have moved out of video shot so if they are people who somehow can't be bothered to ring the doorbell or are up to no good I can't see them.

But if you need more testers I would be happy to help. I currently have an RLN8-410 with 4 RLC-810A's in addition to 4 Arlo Ultra Wireless cameras and the Arlo video doorbell. I am in the process of replacing the Arlo cameras with Reolink to get rid of the subscriptions. I have also integrated my NVR with Home Assistant.

I upgraded after a long frustrating Lorex doorbell which had a 10 second lag.
I was skeptical and getting a different brand as I have used Lorex for several years. I have to say the door bell experience has been top notch. The setup was made so simple anyone who can read could do it in 20 minutes. Having an ethernet cable input and a power adapter to setup doorbell prior to installing out side.made it so simple. The instructions were super easy and hooking up to existing wiring was simple. The plug in door chime is great and you still get you existing door bell that works. Photo quality is great. The included wedge was perfect. I have to say I'm impressed with the experience so far. My only minor bug is how it locks at top of doesn't site right as it should. There is a small space which water may get in .

Die Videoqualität ist super. Auch als Türklingel tut sie was sie soll. Als Sprechanlage ist sie jedoch nicht zu gebrauchen. Selbst wenn sich mein Smartphone im selben Netzwerk befindet, ist die Verzögerung so stark, dass man nicht vernünftig miteinander sprechen kann. Ist man mit dem Smartphone in einem anderen Netzwerk oder gar nur über mobile Daten verbunden, funktioniert es noch viel schlechter. Leider ist auch kein sprechen über das FritzFon möglich. Dass, wie öfter geschrieben, am Smartphone kein Ton beim Klingeln abgespielt wird, kann ich nicht bestätigen. Bei mir funktioniert das, man muss es aber einstellen.
Ich würde mir die VideoDoorbell nicht mehr kaufen

I would like to apply for testing this doorbel. I'm someone who's been working in the IT for 13 years and am very interested in new gadgets.

I've had a ring doorbell, acrest, and now eufy. I have 3 Reolink cameras and have connected over 70 people with reolink cameras already.

As someone who lives in The Netherlands, where we communicate with the postal service a lot, I'd love to test this and all features possible with the doorbell.

I have a doorbell power cable at the door. And could make comparison videos if wanted.

I'd be happy to test the new Reolink doorbell.

I got this POE doorbell to compliment another Reolink camera (and another non-reolink camera). I am using Scrypted to feed this into Homekit and it is excellent so far. Video quality is good, no complaints. Solid build and installation was easy. Wedge was helpful for optimal aim from door frame. Two way audio is fine. I'm excited to use the auto-reply feature for Halloween trick-or-treaters. Test "rings" have always registered through the app (and Scrypted). Would recommend!

I purchased a Reolink Doorbell some time ago after choosing between your product and a Google Nest Doorbell. I opted for your product because of the 2k resolution, 5MP camera, 180° Wide Angle, and the micro SD card slot. While I am generally satisfied with the product, there are nights when I regret my choice.

The issue I'm facing is with the "Person is detected from Doorbell" notifications, which seem to be fake. As shown in the attached picture, there is a pole in front of my house that emits light, preventing the doorbell from entering night mode and causing it to remain in color mode at all times. Manually selecting Black & White doesn't work well either, as nothing is visible. I receive over 100-200 fake notifications every night, and even if I set my phone to vibrate or silent mode, it defeats the purpose of having a SMART doorbell. I prefer not to switch to a Google Nest, but unless there are future improvements, I may have no choice.

Is there a software update, improvement to the Reolink app, or a firmware update that could address this issue in my specific scenario? Unfortunately, moving the doorbell to another location is not feasible.

I would like to be one of the testers of your video doorbells. I have three of your Ptz 823a installed and the doorbell would complete the system. Wireless video doorbell would complete my system.

Hello, good Doorbell Cam, but we need the Chime to buy separately!
When we can get this?? Also the Version 8.11.0 needs to be fixed! I used the old Version, because very terrible Video quality and stability! Please fix this soon. Also we need a "phone Call" Feature if it is ringing!

I'm just starting to get my all new Reolink hardware in place. This was the second camera I installed. I couldn't use POE at my front Doorbell so I went wifi. Being real cameras these connect to my 5Ghz network instead of the slow 2.4. The coverage of the porch is phenomenal. The picture clarity is also top notch. The connection through the app is fast and works excellent. So glad I'm upgrading from my old blink system as those were plain trash.

Orderd two of these doorbells. One for us and one for parents in law.
The setup is very easy and the quality is very good.
Tip: register the product for 6 months more warrenty above the 2 years!

The only issue you can have is the wedge is in the wrong angle. But there are sellers on the internet that sell third party wedges

First off I like to say that this is the 3rd camera I purchased from them since 2020 and this is the worst video quality. Very grainy, wanted to stay in black & white even when the sun is out (shut off auto so it stays in color now). It’s nice it comes with plenty of cables so you definitely have options without having to splice anything during installation. Wired using the supplied DC power. It’s not the worst picture I’ve seen but the worst so far when it comes to the other Reolink cameras.

A straight forward replacement for Ring, Reolink even have a replacement for the floodlight cam. So great.

I just got it today and hooked it and got it connected. So far I love it! It works well with the app and all of the other Reolink cameras I have. I have also connected it to my BlueIris software, but typically only use the app most of the time. Could be a few more traditional or short door bell sounds, but that's just my personal opinion. Surprisingly I didn't seem to find the old school DING-DONG, but there was one close enough.

To clarify for anyone reading this, the doorbell does indeed have the options and configuration available to alert you of someone / or of any motion without pressing the buttons on the doorbell.

Integrating this doorbell into smart home tech, such as Home Assistant, opens up a huge area of automation potentials. This is the only doorbell on the market I've seen where I can broadcast custom messages to the person stood at the door based purely on automations. For example, as Home Assistant will know if I'm at home or not and then play a message to a delivery driver telling them where to leave parcel, vs telling them i'm at home but to give me a few extra minutes to get to the door, That feature alone is worth it's weight in gold. Then theres the fun you can have with this, automations giving custom greetings (or ungreetings as the case may be!) depending on time of day, day of week etc etc. Thats priceless, and thats before it's even been integrated into a facial recognition piece of software. This is THE doorbell to have, imho. I've tried Nest, Ring and Eufy high priced doorbells, this one beats them all, no question.
