The auto tracking seems to work fine and the Ai human detection and vehicle detection are spot on = very good so far, and the night vision IR is very good too and the night vision with the built in spot lights is very impressive = well done to Reolink with this one. P.S the microphone is very clear too, I am waiting for the 8mp RLC-823a to be released to add to my collection.

  What if no matter what I try, I can't get a strong WI-FI signal? Could I run an Ethernet cable to my NVR while also using the adapter for power? I'd return it and order the 8mp version except, and this is going to sound silly, my dog ate the top Styrofoam packaging.

  Hi Ruben, RLC-523WA is a WiFi camera and can’t be powered through network cable. It can only be charged with DC 12V/2A power adapter (included). If you need PoE cameras (power over Ethernet cables), you may consider RLC-823A.

I really like the stated capabilities of the camera, BUT they don't all work together.
My use case is to cover my backyard which requires about 180 degrees of coverage. Sounds like Patrol and Auto-Tracking would do the job, in addition to the on-camera animal/person/vehicle detection and spot-lights that turn and off with detection.
BUT:
1) With Patrol, every camera movement is detected as motion, although animal/person/vehicle work normally.
2) With Patrol, auto-tracking stops. Therefore when animal/person/vehicle motion are detected, they are not tracked when they move off screen.
3) Preset points and Patrol controls both error out on the Android app, although they are accessible from the Windows software and direct HTTP access.

If your use case is different, it's a great camera. I love the image resolution, the camera can pan 360 degrees without needing to "unwind." every feature is exposed to the Home Assistant integration, there are many alert and recording options, and Wi-fi connectivity is great.

This is the best option if you are looking to cover a wide area and don't want to spend the cash on 3 or 4 cameras. The Wi-Fi capability is also a very nice feature. The human and vehicle tracking are top-notch. I've had to make the camera not trigger off vehicles going down our road because I was getting notifications ever couple of seconds. The video quality during the day and the night are also AMAZING, and much better than I thought they were going to be. If you were like me and looking for a PTZ camera instead of having to buy 3 or 4 cameras to cover your house t to cover your house, this is the answer. Also, not having to pay a monthly fee and being able to set it up to either record to the SD card or to a hard drive storage in the house gives you options to get it up running in the short term but also a way to upgrade in the future. FYI, it can only hold a 256gb SD card, but that seems to be plenty right now. I've been running it for a couple of weeks, and I've only used about 8gbs.

I needed to purchase a separate stainless steel corner mounting plate to see 270 degrees around the corner of a house. The default monitor location's area blocked out by the 'Non-Detection Zone' is carried along as the camera moves - that is annoying, as that area isn't valid once the camera moves from its default monitoring location.

Good working camera with app, except detection not working well at all. It seems that the settings do not respond at all when changing the sensitivity of motion detection and receive unseen notifications. it's weird when there are no movement at all, no cars no people or fly's. quality is good, I'll give a buy advice except if you have to use motion detection, hopefully with an update it will be better.

The app works well together with the camera responds.

I also am struggling with the wifi range of this camera. I have reset, re tested, and done everything I can to fix this.
Firstly, it would only “see” the 5Ghz signal and NOT the 2.4ghz. Then after resetting the camera I got the opposite and the camera was sitting right next to the wifi router.

When I connected to either then moved the camera to its location outside the signal completely disappears. If I check my phone wifi, in the same location it sees both perfectly (full signal strength).

  The RLC-523WA supports dual-band WIFI (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz). In general, as tested, the wifi distance from the camera to the router is 20-30m with 2 wood walls between. If the wall is cement or metal, it will be much less distant. IF your phone can pick full signal strength, the camera should work too.
