Hey all,
Anyone can send me the old firmware file of v2.x of the E1 Pro ?
They remove the preset function in the v3, (sorry reolink but you just stabbed all yours clients doing so, even lying about it, ”decided” by the hardware... LOL yeah right... Was working on the v2 and now... gone...)
Thank you!
August 17, 2020 at 4:58 pm #1063358I had a semi official twitter response about removing all presets from the E1 series camera
”Reolink @ReolinkTech 23 Jun
Hi there, the preset function was available for the E1 series previously and we have removed it from these cameras for an upgrade. We don't plan to release this function soon. If there are any updates, we will let you know.”THe latest 7/10/2020 firmware further destroys functionality for me
I was using a perfectly acceptable manual exposure of 255 – they have now locked this to 125
although the this value was above 125 sugested in the app it was perfectly usable (amazed how good the night looked)
this now means im stuck with pirch black camera iamge (i cant use ir led)A anyways seems they dotn like their own E1 Series much or their customers

August 27, 2020 at 9:01 pm #1073111Please do so. I even cannot use PTZ presets in Synology Surveillance Station with E1 Pro.
August 27, 2020 at 9:48 pm #1073150Please look forward to our new firmware!
September 6, 2020 at 6:21 pm #1082884indeed I just made a support ticket for this : E1 Zoom non working PTZ Presets.
Just ordered 2 new E1 Zoom camera's.
If this basic functionality won't be fixed, I won't be ordering any Reolinks anymore in the future and will be reviewing them negatively on the internet.
I also just upgraded to latest firmware, but when I read above night conditions are worse because of exposure settings changed ? I also can't use the IR light (behind window) so better exposure settings without IR should be preferable.September 6, 2020 at 6:57 pm #1082917We will update the new firmware that adds the preset function to E series Cameras.
We do apologize for the unhappy experience.
Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding.
For the night version, please contact our support team and provide some pictures of the night version.
If there is any issue, please feel free to contact us.September 11, 2020 at 10:27 am #1087598PTZ preset option for E1 Pro is back, thanks!
But, I should mention about the firmware upgrade process. I use Reolink Client for Mac. After the firmware upgrade finished, Reolink Client couldn't login to camera, reporting login failed with wrong password. I had to power cycle the camera and remove my password to be able to login successfully without password. When I open Reolink application from my phone (iOS) it wanted me to set a password. But, I noticed that all the previous settings were lost and I had to set them again. If I sum up, I should say that after the firmware updates, the camera should be power cycled and setting should be done from scratch. I suppose, if configuration were exported before firmware upgrade, then they could be restored, but I haven't done so.
September 11, 2020 at 2:52 pm #1087708I got the same problem losing password and settings after upgrading firmware.
I think maybe it's related because I ticked the ”Update configuration files” flag. (see red marked in picture)
Maybe you should upgrade firmware without this flag to keep settings retained.I used this flag because I thought new firmware sometimes adds new options and settings and without this flag the new options/settings can't be used.

September 11, 2020 at 4:37 pm #1087766Yes, you are exactly right.
IF you don't tick the ”Update configuration files" flag, it will not lost the configuration.
We will try our best to make an improvement.September 11, 2020 at 7:44 pm #1087883I suppose, something like ”Reset to factory settings” or ”Reset all camera settings” would be more meaningful instead of "Update configuration files”.
October 20, 2020 at 7:59 pm #1133268Are there plans to add presets to the E1 Zoom? If so, what is the timeline? I had no idea it didn't have this basic functionality, and I'm deciding whether to return it.
October 21, 2020 at 4:32 pm #1134292The Preset function on the E1 Zoom was promised to me some 2 month ago :

>Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding. But until now this basic feature has not come back to the E1 Zoom (which was there in previous firmware versions).
It was only added to the E1 Pro version, not their E1 Zoom version. When will you finally release this feature back Reolink ?
If such a basic feature is not available I don't see any reason why people should buy this camera and indeed will return it if still possible.
I'm also interested if Reolink will add the timelapse feature to the E1 Zoom like they did on the other Reolink cams.
regards,
Bert
October 21, 2020 at 6:07 pm #1134361I am pretty sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
We are trying hard to develop the new firmware for E1 zoom, but we don't know the specific date.
If you are willing to wait for us, we can provide a partial refund to you for compensation.
Is that ok for you? -
