Option 1. Setup via Reolink App

Step 1 Set Up Devices

Connect the NVR to your router and a power outlet, and turn it on. Next, connect your camera to any PoE port using an Ethernet cable.

Step 2 Download Reolink App

Scan the QR code in the Operational Instructions to download the Reolink App.

Step 3 Complete Configuration

Scan the QR code on the NVR with the Reolink App and follow the instructions to finish setup.

Option 2. Setup via Monitor/TV

Step 1 Set up the NVR

Connect the NVR to your router and a monitor/TV, then to a power outlet and turn it on.

Step 2 Set up the Camera

Connect your camera to any PoE port on the NVR with an Ethernet cable.

Step 3 Follow the Initiation Instructions

When you power on the NVR for the first time, follow the instructions to complete the basic configuration.

FAQs on RLN4E

Is an HDMI cable included?

No. The RLN4E does not include an HDMI cable. If you don't have an HDMI cable, complete the initialization process via the Reolink App. For detailed instructions, please refer to the Operational Instructions.

Does the NVR come with a microSD card or an HDD?

No. The NVR does not include an HDD. But some models include a microSD card, depending on the product model you purchase.

What are the requirements for an HDD or microSD card?

It supports an microSD card up to 512GB and an HDD up to 8TB. If purchased from a third party, the microSD card should support Class 10 or higher read and write speeds. The HDD should be surveillance-grade with 5400 RPM or lower.

How can I get my NVR to record for more days when using a microSD card only?

To maximize recording days with the same microSD card capacity, enable motion-triggered recording instead of continuous recording. Go to Record Schedule > Alarm > select the desired detection types (Any Motion/Person/Vehicle/Animal). You can complete the settings via the NVR interface, Reolink App, or PC Client.

How can I use the AI Video Search?

If you use it via the NVR for the first time, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the AI model files first to your HDD or microSD card. For detailed instructions, please refer to Before Using AI Video Search on Your Reolink NVR. If you replace or format the storage device, you need to download and install the AI model files again.
Use it directly on the Reolink App or PC Client with no download required.

How many cameras does the RLN4E support?

The RLN4E features 4 PoE ports and 6 channels in total. It can support up to 4 PoE cameras and 2 additional Wi-Fi cameras, including Wi-Fi plug-in cameras or Wi-Fi battery-powered cameras.
