  • Home Hub + Lumus Pro

    Sto utilizzando il sistema Home hub con 3 telecamere Lumus Pro da circa 2 mesi. Il sistema funziona benissimo, non ho avuto nessun problema sia per la configurazione che per il funzionamento.
    Sono veramente soddisfatto.

    My most recent addition of cameras. The work great at our self-serve farm stand to pick vehicle, vehicles and animal. Plus we can use the audio to talk with the customers. The cameras clarity is very good at recording license plates, faces and watching the cash box. We can visibly count along with the customer paying.

    Don't know how to describe it . Check out the attached video, Deer are running from the right to the left of the screen. First you see their eyes then their bodies fade in. Videos are getting worst.

    It is great camera, Not perfect but it is bang for the buck If you have a power source near and don't wanna spend alot of money this it. It has, alarm, push notification, email notification, Led spotlight, Night vision, App is good but not perfect.

    1. It has USB connector you will need drill a bigger hole to get it through a wall.
    2. Wifi signal is weak so if it's far or against a-lot of walls, get a wifi extender ready.
    3. Needs to be mounted it wont stand on its own.
    4. Cable is only 2.9M, so if your gonna need a longer cable you might need usb extender, extension cord.
    5. Does not support web browser access for viewing camera.
    6. Supports only 2.4 channel wifi

    This is a long review, but I think you will find it helpful if you are considering these Lumus cameras.
    I initially tested a different Reolink product (a dome camera) a couple of months ago and didn't really give it a fair shake. I decided to try again. I bought two Lumus cameras, and after a few days' use, I like them a lot. I'm in the corporate security business, and I also have a fully functional, hardwired POE camera system at the house, so I know what to look for. I wanted some simple wireless cameras to complement my hardwired cameras, the latter of which do not have sirens, two-way audio, nor auto-strobe functionality. Don't expect the Reolink cameras to perform like a commercial, multi-thousand $$ VMS, but you can definitely expect them to perform well for residential purposes. Here is what I found:

    Pro’s
    1) The strobe, siren, night vision, and general resolution of the cameras are excellent.
    2) Two-way audio is pretty good and picks up the slightest sounds at the camera; I had some trouble speaking through the camera on my Android phone, but it turned out to be an error on my end.
    3) The PIR’s are not adjustable on these cameras (other than off or auto), but seem to be adequate for the job.
    4) The transition between day/night functionality (particularly when the strobes come on) is pretty quick.
    5) You can record full-time (aka, “time lapse”) to SD and/or to hard drive or NAS (saved as a letter drive) instead of just motion-based recording on the later versions of this camera. Which is good because motion detection isn’t 100% reliable on any camera, particularly cameras designed to pipe video to the cloud.
    6) The playback timeline on the PC can be zoomed in or out for easier selection of playback clips.
    7) There is much better motion masking than in other residential products I've tried.
    8) Motion sensitivity can be set up in time periods (i.e., 50 for 8AM – 5PM, 40 for 5PM – 10PM, etc.)
    9) The push notifications are quick and reliable – I haven’t tried email notifications yet.
    10) The PC application is pretty good. I'm using it on my PC, my Android, and my iPhone.
    11) Technical support (for the audio issue I was having) was responsive and helpful via email (I didn't try by phone).

    Con’s
    1) Motion detection isn't great, as there is no person-detection or other analytics on the Lumus units; my cat regularly sets off the porch camera, although I’ll probably resolve this later by repositioning the camera (I can’t mask the area without missing people, too).
    2) As with many residential, cloud-capable cameras (even those that record locally), there tends to be a gap between the end of one motion clip and the beginning of another. There is almost always a 30-second (or so) period of time when motion ends or when the maximum clip length is reached where the camera simply will not detect new motion and refuses to record that 30 seconds between clips. Very frustrating. I solve this by recording full time, but I don’t get nearly the retention, of course. This is a problem common to other cameras besides Reolink.
    3) The iPhone app doesn't seem to allow you to adjust the camera volume for two-way audio but I still found it to be loud enough, and there’s always the siren you can activate (manually or automatically).
    4) The playback feature is clunky for recordings on a hard drive or NAS; they are just stored video clips in five minute segments in a folder, and you'd have to know when something happened to find it easily.
    5) Although more intuitive than the hard drive/NAS playback, the SD card playback leaves a bit to be desired - there's forward only, no reverse, and when you get an alert, it doesn't take you immediately to the clip that recorded the activity - you have to scroll and find it. You can scan forward at up to 32x speed. There is clip-by-clip advancing, which is good.
    6) If you’re recording motion only, the playback timeline is helpful in seeing where your activity was but if you’re recording full-time, it doesn’t include colored segments to differentiate the motion from time-lapse recordings. You cannot filter for just motion events if you’ve recorded full time, either – or I just haven’t figured out how to do it yet.
    7) I wish I had an option for a bigger SD card on these units, but since these are just 2MP cameras, 128gb gets me a few days of continuous recording if I tone-down the frame rate to 8FPS or so, which is more than sufficient for most people's needs (unless you're trying to capture high speed activity, like passing vehicle traffic or something).
    8) WiFi connectivity is only on the 2.4GHz range, and not available on the 5GHz range.

    FYI
    1) The PC application must continue running in order to store video on a hard drive or NAS; otherwise, it stores just on the SD card (at the "edge").
    2) I am not subscribing to cloud services, so I cannot comment on that feature, but honestly, I don't need it; I'm pretty satisfied with the SD card. Just don't expect 30 days of recording, obviously - although you could get that duration on the PC if you assign enough hard drive space to it.

    While I did find some cons (everything has cons), they weren’t deal-breakers for me. All in all, this is a good camera and pretty decent VMS platform, easy to install and configure, and the price is awesome. I’ve ordered the PTZ camera to try next.

  • Compared to a PoE camera, this Lumus Pro sucks...

    I am used to PoE cameras. They are responsive. This one, was a torture. Set up MUST be done via cellphone's Bluetooth. Every config you make, the camera takes at least 60 to 80 seconds to become responsive. The Reolink app looses connection all the time (via cellphone and LAN). To me, this camera has either slow hardware, or software issues. I would NOT buy again. I will go back to PoE cameras. And the final issue: if you want to link this wifi camera with your NVR for continuous recording, you MUST do it from the NVR itself (connect a TV/monitor, Mouse and Keyboard). You can NOT use the web interface (very inconvenient). In my case, I need to get into the attic, get into a secured room, and that is really inconvenient/uncomfortable.

    I own 3 of these cameras, Reolink Lumus. the last one I purchased January 3, 2021 I have some minor problems with the camera but it worked in late Oct. 2022 the camera security light stopped working. I contacted Reolink after a few back and forth they agreed the light was dead. To replace the camera I would have to pay $20. USD. They informed me the warranty is only 1 year.

    The camera is decent, however I'm quite annoyed with the fact that they put a 0.7mm dc connector on the camera and power cord. No where sells 0.7mm female to 0.7mm male cords, or adapters. So you're limited to the 10 foot power cord that comes with it. You can of course buy a 2 prong regular extension cord, but then you're running the power adapter in the weather. Poor power design. Decent camera.

    Overall a good camera. However a couple of improvements needed. First, I bought this camera to change out a D-link camera but the Lumus has a much weaker Wifi antennae than the D-link camera, causing sporadic connection drop outs. Is there anything that can be done with the hardware/software? I have a RLC-410W about 10 feet away from the Lumus (facing another direction) but it gets full wifi connection. Could it be the external antennae making the difference? Second, PIR would be nice on the Lumus. Other than that, the camera seems to good. Looking forward to trying out the Argus 3.

    For the price it’s just okay. It says 1080p but if you want 1080p then the camera runs slow. If your wifi signal is low then that affects the reliability of the camera as well. Most of the time it runs alright, if you don’t look at it or touch it. Wish you didn’t need an SD card for playback. Wish the cord was a little bit longer. And probably more sensitivity options than low, medium, high. It picks up bugs that fly pass my motion sensor. The spotlight button doesn’t turn off the spotlight. And sometimes when you’re just watching it on the app it triggers the spotlight. Cheap but I expected better.

  • Gute Kamera mit einer Schwäche (KI)

    Ich bin bisher mit dieser Kamera sehr zufrieden. Der große Überwachungsbereich deckt einen Großteil einer Hausseite ab und auch die 10m IR Nachtsicht sind ausreichend.
    Was ich als störend empfinde ist die schlechte KI Erkennung bzw Einstellung dieser. Ein Busch wird schnell mal als Katze erkannt. Da sollte dringend nachgebessert werden!

    Ho acquistato la Reolink E1 Outdoor con l’obiettivo di avere una telecamera da esterno affidabile, con una buona qualità video e soprattutto con la possibilità di controllare da remoto una zona abbastanza ampia. Dopo averla utilizzata, posso dire che nel complesso sono molto soddisfatto del prodotto.

    La E1 Outdoor è una telecamera che offre parecchie funzioni in un unico dispositivo e, soprattutto, non dà l’impressione di essere un prodotto “giocattolo”: è costruita per essere utilizzata realmente come sistema di videosorveglianza domestica.

    📦 Confezione e installazione

    La confezione contiene tutto il necessario per procedere all’installazione. La telecamera è abbastanza compatta e il design è moderno, senza risultare particolarmente vistoso.

    L’installazione fisica è semplice. Una volta scelta la posizione, è possibile fissarla alla parete o ad altra superficie adatta e collegarla all’alimentazione.

    Anche la configurazione iniziale tramite app Reolink è abbastanza intuitiva. La procedura guidata accompagna passo passo nella configurazione della telecamera e della rete Wi-Fi.

    Una volta completata la configurazione, la telecamera è immediatamente utilizzabile.

    📱 App Reolink

    Uno dei punti che ho apprezzato maggiormente è l’applicazione Reolink.

    L’interfaccia permette di accedere rapidamente alla telecamera, visualizzare le immagini in diretta, controllare la posizione, modificare le impostazioni e consultare le registrazioni.

    È possibile ricevere notifiche quando viene rilevato un movimento e, a seconda della configurazione, distinguere gli eventi rilevati in base al tipo di oggetto/persona.

    L’app offre inoltre numerose impostazioni per personalizzare il comportamento della telecamera.

    Non è quindi una semplice telecamera che permette solamente di vedere cosa sta succedendo: ci sono diverse possibilità di configurazione che permettono di adattarla alle proprie esigenze.

    🎥 Qualità dell’immagine

    La qualità video è uno degli aspetti migliori della E1 Outdoor.

    L’immagine è nitida e dettagliata e permette di riconoscere abbastanza facilmente ciò che avviene nell’area controllata.

    La resa rimane buona anche quando si osservano zone più lontane e lo zoom permette di concentrarsi sui dettagli che interessano maggiormente.

    Ovviamente, come per qualsiasi telecamera di videosorveglianza, la qualità effettiva dipende anche dalla distanza, dall’illuminazione e dalla qualità della connessione, ma nell’utilizzo quotidiano la resa è decisamente soddisfacente.

    Molto utile anche la possibilità di modificare alcuni parametri dell’immagine per adattarla alle condizioni ambientali.

    🔄 Pan e Tilt

    Un altro grande vantaggio rispetto alle normali telecamere fisse è la possibilità di orientare la E1 Outdoor.

    La funzione di movimento permette di spostare l’inquadratura e controllare zone diverse senza dover installare più telecamere.

    Questa caratteristica aumenta parecchio la superficie che è possibile sorvegliare con un solo dispositivo.

    È particolarmente utile, per esempio, quando la telecamera viene installata in un angolo della casa e deve controllare più direzioni.

    Il movimento è abbastanza fluido e può essere gestito direttamente dall’app.

    🔍 Zoom

    Lo zoom è un’altra funzione utile.

    Durante la visione live è possibile ingrandire l’immagine per controllare meglio un determinato punto dell’area sorvegliata.

    Naturalmente bisogna distinguere tra zoom ottico e zoom digitale: aumentando molto l’ingrandimento è normale perdere una parte del dettaglio, ma per controlli a distanza ravvicinata o media la funzione è molto utile.

    🌙 Visione notturna

    Anche la visione notturna mi ha dato una buona impressione.

    Quando la luce diminuisce, la telecamera passa automaticamente alla modalità notturna e permette di continuare a controllare l’area.

    L’immagine rimane sufficientemente chiara per capire cosa sta succedendo e individuare eventuali movimenti.

    La visione notturna è particolarmente utile per una telecamera esterna, perché permette di avere un controllo continuo anche durante le ore in cui non c’è illuminazione naturale.

    Ovviamente la resa dipende molto dall’ambiente: muri, superfici riflettenti, distanza dagli oggetti e presenza di illuminazione esterna possono influenzare il risultato.

    🚨 Rilevamento dei movimenti

    Il rilevamento dei movimenti è una delle funzioni che considero più importanti in una telecamera di sicurezza.

    La E1 Outdoor permette di configurare il rilevamento e di ricevere notifiche direttamente sullo smartphone.

    La possibilità di impostare le aree di rilevamento è particolarmente utile perché permette di evitare, per quanto possibile, notifiche inutili causate da zone dove non è necessario rilevare movimenti.

    Questo è fondamentale soprattutto quando la telecamera viene installata all’esterno: alberi, foglie, animali, automobili o persone che passano in zone non interessate possono altrimenti generare numerosi falsi allarmi.

    👤 Rilevamento delle persone

    La funzione di rilevamento delle persone aggiunge un ulteriore livello di utilità.

    Invece di considerare qualsiasi movimento come un evento importante, la telecamera può riconoscere determinate categorie di soggetti.

    Questa funzione, se configurata correttamente, permette di ridurre il numero di notifiche inutili.

    Per un sistema di videosorveglianza domestico è una caratteristica molto più utile di una semplice rilevazione generica del movimento.

    🎙️ Audio e comunicazione

    La presenza dell’audio bidirezionale è un’altra funzione interessante.

    È possibile ascoltare ciò che avviene vicino alla telecamera e, quando previsto dalla configurazione, comunicare attraverso l’app.

    Può essere utile, per esempio, per parlare con una persona che si trova davanti all’ingresso oppure semplicemente per controllare se nell’area sorvegliata si verificano rumori o situazioni particolari.

    💾 Registrazione

    La possibilità di registrare gli eventi è fondamentale per una telecamera di sicurezza.

    In questo modo non ci si limita a vedere ciò che sta accadendo in tempo reale, ma è possibile andare a controllare successivamente cosa è successo.

    La gestione delle registrazioni attraverso l’ecosistema Reolink è abbastanza completa e permette di consultare gli eventi registrati senza particolari difficoltà.

    Questa è una delle caratteristiche che rende la E1 Outdoor più adatta alla videosorveglianza vera e propria rispetto alle semplici telecamere pensate esclusivamente per il controllo occasionale.

    ☁️ Cloud e gestione delle registrazioni

    Un aspetto positivo dell’ecosistema Reolink è la possibilità di utilizzare diverse modalità di gestione delle registrazioni a seconda delle esigenze e della configurazione scelta.

    Questo permette di creare un sistema più semplice oppure più strutturato.

    Per chi non vuole complicarsi troppo la vita, l’utilizzo dell’app è sufficiente per le normali operazioni quotidiane.

    Per chi invece vuole realizzare un sistema di videosorveglianza più completo, le possibilità di integrazione e configurazione sono sicuramente un valore aggiunto.

    🌧️ Utilizzo all’esterno

    Essendo progettata per l’utilizzo outdoor, la telecamera è adatta a essere installata all’esterno e può quindi essere utilizzata per controllare ingressi, giardini, cortili, terrazzi, garage e altre zone della proprietà.

    La costruzione dà una buona sensazione di solidità e il prodotto è pensato proprio per rimanere installato all’aperto.

    Ovviamente, come per qualsiasi dispositivo elettronico installato all’esterno, è importante scegliere con attenzione la posizione e rispettare le indicazioni di installazione, soprattutto per quanto riguarda alimentazione e protezione dei collegamenti.

    📡 Connessione

    La stabilità della connessione è un aspetto fondamentale per una telecamera Wi-Fi.

    Nel mio utilizzo la connessione si è dimostrata sufficientemente stabile, anche se naturalmente questo dipende molto dalla distanza dal router, dagli ostacoli presenti tra telecamera e access point e dalla qualità della rete Wi-Fi.

    È quindi importante non valutare esclusivamente la telecamera, ma anche la qualità della propria rete domestica.

    Se il segnale Wi-Fi è debole nella zona in cui si vuole installare la telecamera, è consigliabile intervenire prima sulla copertura della rete.

    ⚙️ Personalizzazione

    Uno degli aspetti che mi ha convinto maggiormente è la quantità di impostazioni disponibili.

    È possibile personalizzare diversi aspetti del funzionamento della telecamera e adattarla alle proprie necessità.

    Questo permette di partire da una configurazione molto semplice e, successivamente, modificare il comportamento della telecamera quando si acquisisce maggiore familiarità con il sistema.

    Per chi ama avere il controllo delle impostazioni, questa è sicuramente una caratteristica positiva.

    🏠 Utilizzo quotidiano

    Dopo averla utilizzata quotidianamente, la cosa che apprezzo maggiormente è la possibilità di avere sotto controllo l’area sorvegliata direttamente dallo smartphone.

    Non è necessario trovarsi fisicamente davanti alla telecamera: basta aprire l’app per vedere cosa sta succedendo.

    Le notifiche sono particolarmente comode perché permettono di essere informati quando viene rilevato un evento.

    La possibilità di spostare l’inquadratura è poi un vantaggio notevole rispetto a una telecamera fissa.

    👍 Cosa mi è piaciuto

    * Ottima qualità dell’immagine.
    * Buona visione notturna.
    * Telecamera orientabile.
    * Zoom utile.
    * Rilevamento dei movimenti.
    * Rilevamento delle persone.
    * Notifiche sullo smartphone.
    * Audio bidirezionale.
    * App completa e abbastanza intuitiva.
    * Numerose possibilità di configurazione.
    * Buona soluzione per il controllo di giardini, ingressi e aree esterne.
    * Possibilità di registrare e rivedere gli eventi.
    * Buon rapporto tra caratteristiche offerte e prezzo.

    👎 Cosa migliorerei

    Non è comunque un prodotto perfetto.

    La quantità di impostazioni disponibili può inizialmente risultare quasi eccessiva per chi cerca una telecamera estremamente semplice.

    Inoltre, essendo una telecamera Wi-Fi, la qualità dell’esperienza dipende inevitabilmente dalla copertura della rete nella zona in cui viene installata.

    Anche la qualità dello zoom, come è normale, diminuisce aumentando molto l’ingrandimento.

    Infine, per sfruttare davvero tutte le possibilità offerte dalla telecamera è necessario dedicare un po’ di tempo alla configurazione iniziale. Una volta impostata correttamente, però, l’utilizzo quotidiano diventa molto più semplice.

    💰 Rapporto qualità/prezzo

    A mio parere il rapporto qualità/prezzo è uno dei punti forti della Reolink E1 Outdoor.

    Considerando la qualità video, la possibilità di orientare la telecamera, lo zoom, la visione notturna, il rilevamento intelligente, le notifiche e tutte le possibilità offerte dall’app, è un prodotto che offre parecchio.

    Non la considererei quindi una semplice telecamera Wi-Fi economica, ma un dispositivo che può tranquillamente essere inserito all’interno di un sistema di videosorveglianza domestico più completo.

    ⭐ Giudizio finale

    Nel complesso considero la Reolink E1 Outdoor un ottimo prodotto.

    La qualità dell’immagine è buona, la visione notturna è convincente, l’applicazione è completa e le possibilità di configurazione sono numerose.

    La possibilità di orientare la telecamera rappresenta poi un vantaggio concreto e permette di controllare un’area molto più ampia rispetto a una normale telecamera fissa.

    È una soluzione che consiglierei soprattutto a chi cerca una telecamera da esterno versatile, con molte funzioni e senza voler rinunciare alla possibilità di gestire tutto comodamente dallo smartphone.

    Dopo averla provata, ritengo che sia un prodotto che riesce a combinare bene qualità video, funzionalità, facilità di utilizzo e possibilità di personalizzazione.

    Voto complessivo: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

    Una telecamera completa, versatile e adatta sia a chi vuole semplicemente controllare casa e giardino da remoto sia a chi vuole costruire un sistema di videosorveglianza più articolato.

    Have 2 of these and works perfectly well for my needs. Great picture quality for the price when I first got it. App is very easy to use and can handle multiple cameras which I have 6 reolink wifi cameras right now and works fine as a continuous monitor using a pc or an ipad. Also having a built in sd card holder to store images videos and not having to subscribe for a cloud is a no brainer. Had this camera brand for over 5 years now and still works great. I’m already thinking of getting an upgrade for their new products or just add on to my arsenal :)

    Ich bin im Großen und Ganzen sehr zufrieden, es ist an sich sehr leicht einzurichten und auch die Bedienung an sich ist leicht. Ich habe seit mehreren Jahren schon mehrere Modelle und bin mit allen super zufrieden und auch, dass man wirklich überall zugreifen kann, ist super und einfach.

  • Works, but pixel motion detection is not good

    The camera works as expected when used inside or outside. However, pixel motion detection is not working very well if the camera is placed behind a glass window Since they advertise the camera also has pixel motion detection beside PIR, I expected the lumus would work the same as RLC-820A camera behind a window.

      Thanks for your feedback. Reolink Lumus is with PIR sensor while RLC-810A without. No matter which detection type, it‘s not recommended to install cameras behind the windows. Because both vision and detection will be affected by the glass.
      Lumus is an outdoor&indoor WiFi camera, and you may install it outside the windows.

    My second Reolink camera but disappointed to find out you can't see the stream from your browser as I can from my other Reolink camera. Also disappointing to learn I can't integrate into Home Assistant. Looking back to the specs I can see it does say no browser support so my bad on that one. Perhaps I was expecting too much...

    During checkout, I followed the "recommended" accessories and added the power extension cable they suggested. It does not fit. The Reolink Lumus Pro itself is a solid piece of hardware

    I replaced my two SimpliCams (that were only 3 months old, much more expensive, and never detected ANY motion) with these because I wanted the spotlight feature for outside. These completely exceeded my expectations (obviously the bar had been set pretty low with the SimpliSafe cameras), so much so that I bought two more. On night one they caught two raccoons and fox in my backyard. Attached is the fox video.
