Reolink Video Doorbell PoE

Yes. When connected to a PoE device that complies with IEEE 802.3af, a single Ethernet cable provides both power and network connectivity. An Ethernet cable must be routed to the doorbell location and connected to a PoE switch, PoE injector, or compatible PoE NVR.

The PoE model requires a wired Ethernet connection to access the network. If there is no Ethernet cable at the front door, assess the available cable-routing options and installation costs before purchasing.

Existing doorbell wires may provide power, but they cannot replace the Ethernet data connection. If installing an Ethernet cable is impractical, consider one of Reolink’s Wi-Fi video doorbell models instead.

Yes. In addition to standard PoE, the Reolink Video Doorbell PoE supports a hardwired power supply of 12–24 VAC at 50/60 Hz or 24 VDC. However, an Ethernet connection is still required for network access.

Check the transformer’s output before installation. Do not supply power through both PoE and the hardwiring terminals at the same time.

The Reolink Video Doorbell PoE cannot directly operate a traditional mechanical chime. When a visitor presses the doorbell, you can receive alerts through a Reolink Chime, push notifications from the Reolink App, and compatible smart display devices.

If you need the doorbell to ring in multiple indoor locations, check the compatibility, availability, and supported quantity of the intended Chime model in your region before purchasing.

A wired PoE connection is not affected by weak Wi-Fi coverage or wireless interference at the front door. It is therefore generally better suited to installations that prioritise stable video transmission and 24/7 recording.

However, the time between tapping a notification and opening the live view also depends on factors such as smartphone performance, the local network, internet connectivity, and the remote access route. A fixed response time in seconds therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Yes. You can choose between 24/7 continuous recording, motion-triggered recording, and scheduled recording.

Supported storage options include a microSD card with a capacity of up to 256 GB, a compatible Reolink NVR, Reolink Home Hub Pro, and an FTP or NAS server.

Yes. The Reolink Video Doorbell PoE’s official protocol list includes RTSP, RTMP, and ONVIF. These protocols allow the doorbell to be connected to compatible video players, NVRs, NAS systems, and video management systems (VMS).

Support for features such as two-way audio, doorbell events, smart detection, and playback may vary between third-party platforms. Check the target platform’s compatibility information before deployment.

Yes. The doorbell supports pre-recording and can retain approximately six seconds of video from before an event is triggered. This helps capture the visitor’s approach to the front door instead of recording only the period after detection.

The actual recording result also depends on the recording settings, detection configuration, and available storage capacity.

The main difference is the orientation of their fields of view. The white model uses a vertical 3:4 aspect ratio with a default resolution of 1920 × 2560. It is designed to provide a head-to-toe view of visitors and a clearer view of packages left at the door.

The black model uses a horizontal 4:3 aspect ratio with a default resolution of 2560 × 1920, providing wider coverage of the areas to the left and right of the doorway.
