Can I use this camera with Synology?

Yes, via Surveillance Station or FTP setup.
Method 1 (recommended): You can add this camera to the Synology Surveillance Station. See setup guide.

How can I expand the NVR's storage capacity?

You can replace the pre-installed 2TB HDD with a larger one and add an external HDD for the NVR. The RP-PN8 supports up to 32TB total: Max. 16TB via internal SATA, Max. 16TB via external eSATA.

How long does an HDD last for recordings?

It depends on the bit rate and settings. A higher bit rate will allow for better image and audio quality, leading to a bigger file size. Read more about it here:

What kind of microSD card is supported?

Up to 512GB, FAT32 format, Class 10 speed.

What is the difference between Professional Series cameras and residential security cameras?

Professional Series cameras offer greater resolution, storage, and security capabilities, as opposed to residential security cameras which only have basic features.

What kind of Junction Box can I use with this model?

The D20 Junction Box is compatible.

Which Ethernet cable should I use?

Any 8-pin CAT5 or higher cable with T-568B wiring.

Can I use third-party cameras with the NVR?

It's not recommended. Third-party cameras may have compatibility issues. Please contact our support ream for relatiod inquires.
