Forum Security Systems Unable to playback recordings over network (PC/mobile clients)

    Just set up an RLN8-410 NVR with 5 cameras. Everything works great except playback over any of the network clients (PC/Mac/Android) fails. Recording does take place and playback over direct HDMI connection to NVR works just fine.

    Running latest NVR/Camera firmware and client software as of 7/25/2018.

    PC Client: dragging a channel into a playback window and hitting play produces no result, fast forwarding has no effect although time slices are visible.

    Android: Attempting playback runs the spinner animation for split second followed by ”Playback failed” message.

    Same behavior over LAN or Remote.

    Anyone else run into this by chance?

    Reached out to support and they were able to resolve the issue. Here is the solution in case anyone runs into this:

    DST end time needed to be set to December (time tracking bug of some sort that will be fixed in future firmware)
