Checking the following information to know whether your camera can distinguish a license plate.

Reolink cameras have both a zoom lens and a fixed lens. The visual distance of each lens is different.

a. Auto-focus / PTZ camera lens. (f=2.8 mm–12 mm, F=1.2)

  • 2.8 mm: The viewing angle of 100 degrees allows you to read a license plate within 10 ft.
  • 12 mm: The viewing angle of 36 degrees allows you to read a license plate within 40 ft.

Note: You may zoom in/out accordingly to see any license plate within 40 feet.

b. Fixed lens. (f=4.0 mm, F=2.0)

4.0 mm: The viewing angle of 80 degrees allows you to read a license plate within 13 ft.
